This atheist Richard Dawkins has know understanding of the God of the Bible. He makes up two "different gods" as he calls it in the Old Testament and the New Testament. But for what he doesn't understand is that is God of the Bible is the One True God! He is a triune Godhead of the Father, Son , Holy Spirit. The Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Father, the Father is not the Holy Spirit, the Son is not the father, the son is not the holy spirit, and the holy spirit is not the son, and the holy spirit is not the father. wheww.... The God of the Old Testament is Different From the God of the New Testament

"[Richard] Dawkins refers to, very specifically, 'The God of the Old Testament' and not the general concept of God with [the] phrase, 'Megalo-maniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.'"

The God of the New Testament is just as offensive to the ungodly as the God of the Old Testament, because they are One in the same. He never changes. Jesus warned to fear Him because He had the power "to cast body and soul into Hell" (see Matthew 10:28).

Look at His terrible New Testament judgments: He killed a husband and wife, simply because they told one lie (see Acts 5:1-11). His "wrath" abides on every unbeliever for their sins (see John 3:36, Ephesians 5:6). He will punish the unsaved with a fearful "indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish" (Romans 2:8-9), and warns that He is going to be "revealed from Heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ" (see 2 Thessalonians 1:8).

He is so angry at this world He calls us His enemy (see James 4:4) and promises to "shake not only the earth, but also Heaven" in His wrath (Hebrews 12:26). Our God is "a consuming fire" (see Hebrews 12:29) and His justice will cause some to gnaw their tongues in pain (see Revelation 16:10). He is so serious about sin He will cast all liars into the lake of fire (see Revelation 21:8).

If you still want to paint the Old Testament God as been mean and the New Testament God as being nice, please realize that the God of the New Testament proclaimed the death sentence on every man, on every woman and on every child of the human race. Every single human being will die because they have violated God's Law (see Romans 5:12, 6:23).

So the two Gods scenario is imaginary, and He isn’t a Megalo-maniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully, but an utterly perfect, holy and righteous Creator. He will see that absolute justice is done on what the Bible calls "the Day of Wrath." That is what is offensive to guilty sinners. They are at enmity with God’s Law (see Romans 8:7). They hate His moral government.

However, the same God of the Bible (who in the Old Testament said to love your neighbor as much as you love yourself--see Leviticus 19:18), is rich in mercy. He provided a way for us (in the New Testament) to be saved from His just wrath. This was through the blood of the cross. If we refuse His offer of mercy, we will have to stand before His fearful justice. The New Testament warns "It is a fearful thing to fall into the Hands of the Living God" (see Hebrews 10:31) and further adds "How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?"

The Centrality of the Cross

Early in the visionary chapters of the book of Revelation, where images are prodigally piled up, one on another, in order to convey thoughts to readers' minds, the Lord Jesus is announced as “the Lion of the tribe of Judah” who will open the scroll for the consummation of world history (5:5). But the Lion appears not as a lion but as “a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain” (v. 6 ESV). The Lamb appears thereafter twenty-eight more times, battling, conquering, shepherding, and finally functioning as the lamp that gives permanent light to his bride, the holy city, new Jerusalem, that is, the church perfected in glory (21:23, cf. 22:1-5). In this book, then, the slain Lamb is a key image for the Lord Jesus Christ. Where did it come from? Clearly, from (1) the Passover lamb, the blood of which shielded Israel from the destroyer at the time of the Exodus, plus (2) the God-prescribed ritual of killing a lamb, with the transgressor's hand on its head, as a sin offering (Lev. 4:32-35), plus (3) the required daily sacrifice of two lambs as sinful Israel's offering to its holy god (Ex. 29:38-42; Num. 28:3-6), plus (4) Isaiah's description of God's servant, the vicarious sufferer who became a sin offering, as being led "like a lamb … to the slaughter" (Isa. 53:7), plus (5) John the Baptist's identification of Jesus as "the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world" (John 1:29, 36). And for the Lamb to be the lamp of the city of God means that the thought of the Son of God made flesh and slaughtered for our sins in order to save us will never leave the minds of glorified saints as they fellowship with the Father and the Son and will frame all their thinking about everything else.

So all we who hope for the life of heaven ourselves, and especially those among us who as pastors are statedly committed to prepare others for that heavenly life, will do well to adjust our thinking here and now to the absolute and abiding centrality of the atoning cross in Christian life here and hereafter and to labor to express this awareness in all our preaching, teaching, and modeling of Christianity, day by day.

NAIROBI, Kenya, October 27 (Compass Direct News) – Among at least 24 aid workers killed in Somalia this year was one who was beheaded last month specifically for converting from Islam to Christianity, among other charges, according to an eyewitness.

Muslim extremists from the al Shabab group fighting the transitional government on Sept. 23 sliced the head off of Mansuur Mohammed, 25, a humanitarian aid worker, before horrified onlookers of Manyafulka village, 10 kilometers (six miles) from Baidoa.

The militants had intercepted Mohammed and a driver, who managed to escape, earlier in the morning. Sources close to Mohammed’s family said he converted from Islam to Christianity in 2005.

Where will you go for eternity?

There is nothing more important than where you will spend eternity!
If you have never thought about where you will go when you die...now is the time to do so. Perhaps you received one of these tombstone cards with the question, "What is the most important part on this headstone?" What do you think? Take a good look at it.

Is the most important part your name? The date? That you were dearly loved? That you were someone's son or daughter?

The answer is surprising...

It's none of the above!

Did you miss it?

Most people do.

The most important part on the headstone is the dash in between the two dates. It represents all the days of your life here on earth. The bible tells us that life is like a vapor. Think about it. Your life appears for a little while and then it's gone.

Have you ever thought about death? Where you'll go after you die? Where you'll spend all eternity when your life here on earth is over?

Think about it. The ultimate statistic is that 33 people out of 33 people die! That means you won't escape death. No one will. And eternity is a long time. In fact, just think, it's forever and ever and ever. There is no time in eternity.

We care about you and we want you to understand that there's nothing more important than where you go after you die. That's why someone gave this card to you.

Have you ever saw yourself according to how God see's you? If not, here's what to do evaluate yourself by the 10 Commandments to see how you measure up to God's standards of righteousness.

Have you ever lied (even once--fibs, white lies, etc.)? Have you ever stolen (the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions (by your own admission), you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart; and we've only looked at three of the Ten Commandments.

Perhaps you're thinking that the 10 Commandments were given a long time ago and are not relevant for today...but the bible gives us surety in the New Testament, "that no fornicator (a person who has sex outside of marriage), unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God." Ephesians 5: 5 (Italicize portion not in the original text).

Have you put God first in your life, or have you created a false god to suit yourself; a god you feel comfortable with? If God judges you by that standard will you be innocent or guilty on the Day of Judgment? If you're honest and listen to your conscience you know that you will be guilty, and end up in Hell.

The reality of that should strike terror in your heart!

But WAIT!

God Himself made a way for sinners to be forgiven. Jesus suffered and died on the cross to satisfy God's Law — You broke the Law and Jesus paid the fine with His precious blood!

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16). Then He rose from the dead, defeating death. That means that God can forgive you and grant you the gift of everlasting life. Today, here's what to do, confess your sins to God, repent (turn) from your sins, put your trust in Jesus to save you from eternal damnation, and you will pass from death to life.

This man Todd Bentley is demon-possessed. He claims he has been told by a angel to go do the work of God. But as Paul tells us in the book of Galatians 1:8,9 that if a angel from heaven preach a gospel contrary to the gospel of Jesus Christ may he be accursed. That is the case here. Benedict XVI is reported (link to report) as recently praying to Mary: "We implore you to have pity today on the nations that have gone astray, on all Europe, on the whole world, that they might repent and return to your heart."

This is a prayer that is openly idolatrous. Mankind needs to turn, not to the heart of Mary, but to the Son of Mary, Jesus Christ the Righteous. The true and proper object of worship is God alone.

Matthew 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Benedict XVI is also reported as praying to her, "If you will not help us because we are ungrateful and unworthy children of your protection, we will not know to whom to turn."

This prayer demonstrates the underlying blindness of Catholicism. There is a place to which not only all of Europe in general, but Mr. Ratzinger in particular ought to turn for help, and whose protection should be sought: the throne of the Most High God, by the intercession of the Son of God, Jesus Christ with the aid of the Holy Spirit.

But though Jesus is the Son of Mary, and though Mary is greatly blessed to be the Mother of our Saviour, yet Jesus himself said:

48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? 49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? 34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

It is almost as though Jesus was concerned lest some might foolishly fall into the trap of worshiping his blood relatives! Indeed, here is Jesus' own condemnation of the error of adoration and veneration of Jesus' mother. They do not hold a special place in the kingdom of God, but are like all those who do the will of God. Yet Catholicism, as can be seen from this event, continues to elevate Mary improperly to the status of, in effect, a goddess to whom prayers are offered.

Benedict XVI did not even omit to provide a sacrifice to this de facto goddess. It is reported that, "In a gesture of filial love, the Pope then offered the Madonna a golden rose." One is reminded immediately of the similar offerings presented by the Philistines to the Ark of the Covenant in the Old Testament, particularly given Catholicism's claim (or at least the claim of her apologists) that Mary is the "ark of the New Covenant."

Finally, we should note that Benedict XVI is reported not to have left Jesus entirely out: "...The secret of Pompeii is the rosary: "This prayer leads us through Mary to Jesus." But, in fact, the Rosary leads men away from Jesus, as can be seen in the idolatry illustrated in the prayers above. Benedict XVI is reported to have claimed, "The rosary is a spiritual weapon in the struggle against evil, against all violence, for peace in hearts, in families, in society and in the world."

But, in fact, sadly it is an extra-Scriptural innovation: unknown to the apostles and unpracticed for centuries and centuries following Christ's ascension. The Early Church Fathers didn't say the Rosary, and neither should you: it is a tradition of men, not of God.

SB 1082 provides that interpreting any statute, rule, or regulation, the words “person”, “human being”, “child”, and “individual” include every infant member of the species homo sapiens who is born alive at any stage of development. SB 1082 provides that a live child born as a result of an abortion shall be fully recognized as a human person and accorded immediate protection under the law.

BACKGROUND: SB 1082 is in response to instances at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn where abortions resulted in living infants who were then allowed to die without medical or comfort care. Language similar to HB 1082 has passed the United States House of Representatives.

SB 1662 (O’Malley/Winkel, 92nd GA) was identical legislation that passed the Senate 30-12-10 and died in the House Health Care Committee 2-8-0.

SB 1095 (O’Malley/Johnson, 92nd GA) was identical legislation that passed the Senate 35-5-13 and died in the House Civil Judiciary Committee 6-5-1.

My name is Kerrigan Skelly and I am the founder of PinPoint Evangelism. Simply put, I am a former Pastor who God called out of the Pastorate to be a full-time Evangelist. You may ask yourself, "What is an Evangelist?" Well, Ephesians 4:11-12 tells us exactly what an Evangelist is. It says, “And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;” Contrary to popular belief, Evangelists are not people who are specially gifted and called by God to do all the evangelizing for the Church of Jesus Christ. Evangelists are those who “equip the saints for the work of service.” They are those who teach the Body of Christ, the Church, how to evangelize Biblically. And that is the 1/2 of the ministry that God has called my family and I to.

The second 1/2 of our calling is boldly reaching out to the lost everywhere we go. We go to college campuses, bar/club districts, parades, festivals and other public places where there are large groups of people who need to hear the Gospel. Reaching out to the lost with the Gospel is the calling and duty of every Christian. The Great Commission makes it very clear that all Christians are called to evangelize the lost. Below you will find my individual testimony of how I became a Christian and how God called me out of the Pastorate to be a full-time Evangelist.

I was raised in a non-Christian home. While I was growing up, my mother usually took me to Church at least on the holidays. From when I was eight years old until I was twelve years old, she took me just about every Sunday. She did her best to raise me the way she knew how: to be a moral and law abiding citizen. When I became a teenager, I found "better things" to do as a young person. I would still go to Church on the holidays at times, but I was no Christian. When I went into the military after high school, God began to work in my life. I remember a young Christian man trying to have a Bible Study with me when I was in A.I.T. (Advanced Individual Training) in the Army. I stayed with it for a short period of time and then lost interest because I still loved my sin. As I moved to my permanent station at Ft. Bragg, NC, God continued to work in my life. By the Grace of God, a Christian Supervisor was put over me. He began witnessing to me and I began going to Church on Sundays. I also met someone back home in Maryland who would take me to Church when I visited. God was working in my life in many different ways, but I still resisted Him. I knew I was on my way to Hell because of my sins, but thought I had "plenty" of time for "religious things" later on. It wasn’t until a tragedy happened in my life that I was awakened to the fragileness of life. It wasn’t until my Grandmother died that I realized I could die at anytime. God has power over life and death and God could demand me to give an account of my life at any time He chose. As far as anyone knew, my Grandmother was in good health. Then, while visiting my mother in Maryland, she went into a coma. About two weeks later she died. What God spoke to my heart through my grandmother dying was this: "What would happen to you if I took your life in the same way that I took your Grandmother's?" I knew I was on my way to Hell and I knew a change needed to happen in my life. Shortly after she died, I was lying in my bed one night and decided to give my life to Jesus Christ. That night, before I went to sleep, I repented of my sins and put my faith in Jesus Christ. I surrendered ALL to Him and I haven't been the same since. God removed from me my heart of stone and gave me a heart of flesh. He put His Holy Spirit in me which gave me new desires, desires to do what He wanted me to do instead of what I wanted to do.

I immediately felt a call to Christian ministry. I ran from my call for a year or so and then I finally gave in. I started out by going to school part-time, while working on the side, until God provided a way for me to go to school full-time. Since I have become a Christian, I have been a Youth Pastor, a Sunday School Teacher, a Worship Leader for Youth and Adults, a J.O.Y. Group Pastor of College/Career age people, an Associate Pastor and a Senior Pastor. I have always had a hunger and desire to see the lost saved. Unfortunately, at the beginning of my Christian life, I had zeal without knowledge. In order to become a better witness, I began studying about evangelism and revivals. When I read about revivals I got very excited. I got excited because of how much God worked amongst His people and how many lost sinners got saved. Then around Christmas 2003, I picked up a book called Revival’s Golden Key (which is now called Way Of The Master ). I looked at the back and saw that it was written by a strange looking New Zealander named Ray Comfort. I had no idea who this guy was, so I almost didn’t buy it. Then I looked at the commendations on the back of the book and there were many by people I respected, so I decided to buy it. I read all the way through the book in no time, but it wasn’t about what I expected it to be about. It was about Evangelism. I began putting the principles that I learned from that book into action and was very pleased with the evangelistic encounters I had. Then I discovered The Great News Network through Ray Comfort’s website . I signed up for Evangelism Boot Camp #3 which was in Dallas in October 2004. I witnessed to more people in the first day of Evangelism Boot Camp then I had in the whole year of 2003. I came back from Boot Camp on fire for God and haven’t been the same since. I lost much of the fear that I had when witnessing and God made me much bolder to reach the lost for Him. Now I witness to just about every person that I possibly can. I strive to always be a nobody telling anybody about a somebody who came to save everybody! I thank God for the ministry of Ray Comfort (Living Waters) and The Great News Network! It was back in October 2004 that God began to make it very clear to me that He was calling me to be an Evangelist. It just wasn’t the right time yet. But it was less then a year later that God called me out of the Pastorate to full-time Evangelism. So, my wife, my two kids and I stepped out in faith, sold most of our possessions and moved East to North Carolina, where God led us to start PinPoint Evangelism. God has blessed us richly for being obedient to His call on our life.

Remember we as Christians have to be like the Berean's in the book of Acts and learn how to use discernment. I was thinking about drinking a protein shake tonight and let's use that protein shake as a example of truth. Say that shake is pure and 100 percent strength protein that will better your body and soul. But for some reason someone secretly dropped a ounce of poison into the shake. Would that shake be 100 percent truth? No. That is exactly the point with cults and people that try to use man's own desires and goals instead of God's Word. They want to add things, change things, make up things, and distort doctrines. But as a Bible-Believing Born-Again Christian discernment is critical to the Believer's life in every aspect. This is why Apologetics is so important.

Slow-pitch Softball

I have just finished my fourth season of playing slow-pitch softball. It has been a blast and such a learning experience. I have increased in my ability to play the game and it has opened up the door for God to work on me. Coming from a background of sports-centered life, my passion for the game has altered about 180 degrees to “vertical centered Godliness” and drifted away from “horizontal selfish-ness” centered. I have learned to play for my God – Jesus Christ and bring glory to Him. Playing softball holds great potential for my godliness. Humility is a big factor in the way you play the game. I have learned to play the game passionately and unselfishly to give glory to God. By the grace of God, softball helps me grow in all areas of my Christian life.
